We remember...

We remember...

A Poem by Alexis L. Thompson

We remember...
life before the death of the twins.
When all believed not to give in.
And all believed in no such sin.

We remember...
The day we saw the towers die.
A thought that will never pass us by.
That day so many tears we cried.

Children were pulled out of class.
Watching teachers cry as they passed.

Listen to the news all day long.
Wondering what we did wrong.

We remember...
The crash of a plane in tower one.
Not knowing damage wasn't done.
a terrifying day for everyone.

We remember...
Firefighters on the move, fast.
Another plane coming past.
Tower two's shadow uncast.

One more plane in the pentagon.
People confused, Whats going on?

A scary day for our country free.
Or used to be for you and me.

We remember...
Nine eleven.
I was six and you were seven.
Struck us both and prayed to heaven.

We remember...
Nine eleven.
