Life in Her Small Eyes

Life in Her Small Eyes

A Poem by Alexis L. Thompson
"

...

"
From a childhood of pain.
Of anger
and sorrow.
From the little blonde girl,
looking for a better tomorrow.

Not knowing right from wrong.
No help from "parents"
or morals to gain.
The continuous arguing
that fills her small brain.

A mother to lazy to care.

a father with a psychotic glare.

A girl that gets high
from the smoke standing by.

She doesn't know it's not fair.

Finally a day things would get better.
With no more pain
and no more crying,
but she still doesn't know
she's slowly dieing.

A day when mom left.
The day daddy cried.
There was no mom
to protect the girl.
Now her life is a bomb.

About ten years went by.

Fifteen and getting high.

Dating a boy of seventeen.
The man of her dreams.

But she will never live life alive.
