Fulcrum

Fulcrum

A Poem by Mica L. Bennett
"

For a friend...

"
Unannounced
You came in like a bat out of Hell...
Like a dark Angel...
and I wasn't ready.

But you didn't care...
That's the thing about you...
you never care... and yet...
You care way too much...

I
Fell
Fast.

For you.

I wanted you.
I craved you.
I poured my soul out to you.

I was mixed on my emotions
Before I knew where this would go.
You treated me as an equal,
and gave me what I needed.

Before you ever knew what you did for me.

And you're going to ask
Why this doesn't rhyme if it's a poem.

...It's a metaphor.

Free verse...
An expression of the freedom you have given me.

A gift I can never repay you.

And for that, I am sorry...

But I am also thankful....

And I want you to take my hand.

I want you to hold on to me.

Become one with me.

and tear down the walls of expectation...

and show them all
We are one in the same.

We are uniquely divided.

We are the Fulcrum.
