Sugar Cube

Sugar Cube

A Poem by Mica L. Bennett

a sugar cube is placed upon one's
tongue.
It is the sweetest thing.
The sweetest taste.
But as it dissolves
it disappears.
As if it were never there.
A wisp of sweet release.
Diminished.
Faded.
And then
there is no more.
Such a sweet substance,
lost forever.
