Alone

Alone

A Poem by Alexis L. Thompson

Alone with herself
to think of her.
Thoughts of sorrow.
Happiness a blur.

Alone with her mind.
Center of her own attention.
A hell in itself.
The Devil's invention.

Alone with no escape.
Trapped in her head.
Scratching at the walls.
She wishes to be dead.

Alone with her thoughts.
Dying to get away.
She wants them silent
just for a day.

She says for a day.
