Words

A Poem by Alexis L. Thompson

Words I never said
but should have spoke.

I try to speak
but then I choke.

Not listened to
as they go by.

No one hears
the words I cry.

And when I speak
I seem to choke

on words I never said
but should have spoke.

Good mirror-like quality to this one. I get an almost filmic image of somebody paralysed in an urban setting while a sped-up cityscape whirrs around them. Kinda like being the only normal-speed person in a world full of super-speedsters.
