Shattered Dreams

Shattered Dreams

A Poem by Alexis L. Thompson
"

this is a poem my Grandmother started but could never finish. She had the first two lines and wanted me to write the rest so here it is.

"
Shattered dreams
fall to my feet.
Making life seem
bitter-sweet.

Pieces are
just left behind.
Swept to where
no one can find.

And life seems
less important now.
Reach for the stars,
I don't know how.

Like glass the pieces
of my dreams.
Ripping apart my
loosened seams.

And pieces are
rubbed in my skin.
Mocking me so,
such a sweet sin.

Shattered dreams
fall to my feet.
Making life seem
bitter-sweet
