Jerk

Jerk

A Poem by Pam
"

A poem I wrote when I couldn't explain to my boyfriend exactly how I was feeling those days from back then. It starts off as yelling, but then turns into sweetness. <3

"

I don’t know what to do,

But I’ve met dudes like you.

You try to flatter me,

But I’ll make you see.

You can’t just leave me hangin’,

Especially when the subject is bangin’.

The pain in my stomach won’t lessen,

It gets worse as you keep me stressin’.

I don’t want to let it go,

The relationship I mean.

Sometimes I have my doubts,

But in the end everything works out.

I feel like the cycle repeats,

Like I’ve been in this exact spot before.

How dare you mention the past?

I won’t let your guilt trip last.

You can attempt to play me for a fool,

But you set yourself up for the results to be uncool.

I ain’t complainin’,

I was just sayin’.

We’re two of a kind,

Without going over that awkward line.

So I sit here willing to call you a jerk,

But end up making you show a smirk.

I realize I ain’t perfect (far from it),

But some things are worth it.

Maybe this poem made you smile,

But I’ll tell you it’s been a while.

I start with bitterness,

But then it turns to happiness.

I can’t gather the puzzle pieces,

But then again do I really need a reason?

True love never makes sense.
