AcquiesceA Poem by Nina C Palmer(v) accept something reluctantly but without protest.Such
a simple gesture, The
hand before me. A
palm; pale and moist, Skyward
and open.
A
ponder and a pause, Quiver
down my spine. Breath
held tight to my chest, Exhaled
slow, soft, and quiet.
Without
reserve, I stare At
motionless fingers. Then
a spark of temptation comes, From
the flint of apprehension.
My
lower lip softly bitten. My
eyes smile in delight. My
hand reaches out And
fingers interlace.
Palms
press together, Gently
but firm. A
gesture so small, But breathtaking, nonetheless. © 2014 Nina C PalmerReviews
