maybe we're meant to be

maybe we're meant to be

A Poem by palcoscenico

maybe we're meant to be

but most likely i’m thinking not

and i can't handle how it's gonna be
when you’re away

despite your sugary nothings

that you forget and leave behind,

tickling my vestal ears

leaving streaks of gray

in what used to be white and black

shivers down my spine

when your arm’s around my shoulder

there are no gates

and i’m scared of

my jello brain

when you hold me tight like no one else

maybe we're meant to be

but it twists me up inside

to lie to you about how i feel

just to get you to tell me

words that you believe are true

but i know better…

words become ideas

and ideas are hard to kill

but they die just as surely as men

all i want is you against me

two bodies to keep the other warm

and maybe a sweet word on the side,

an unrequited confession here and there

maybe we're meant to be

but i doubt it

look at me, look at you

two lost souls
 who found each other

just to plug up the empty spaces for a while

before time came between us

and severed us apart

by our conjoined hearts in our faraway heads

and i guess it's just my job to learn
that

just cause its been said before doesn’t mean it’s not true

but i have to love myself before i can ever think about loving you.

This is an amazing poem. I love your metaphors and flow of words. The only thing I can complain about is that there should be capitalization. But that's it; the poem was amazing, GREAT JOB!
