Wish to see you again

Wish to see you again

A Poem by Bliss in Sorrow

I wish I didn’t have to abandon you, the person I cherished the most,

And to break the shackles of the world for you and never make you feel lost.

I hope you will understand someday that I had my reasons,

Otherwise, I wouldn’t have parted ways till my life’s last season.

I am indebted to your selfless love but please don’t think I loved you any less,

Trust me my love, without you, my life will also be a total mess.

I wish I didn’t have to see those teary eyes for which I was the reason,

I have always craved for your happiness, but this is a repercussion of my decision.

The affection you gave me now makes me scared,

Because I believe no one’s love in this would ever compare.

Now I don’t know if your love made me weak or set the standards of loving someone so high,

All I know is the memories of your beautiful smile will be the motivation of living my life.

Don’t cry a lot when I won’t be around because my helpless self won’t be able to reach your way,

Smile a lot and never frown, remember I will watch you from somewhere far away.

I hope your positive vibes and countless good wishes would lead my path going forward,

And you will be my Guardian angel forever whenever I tumble.

If it is the Lord’s will, then I will accept it and say my Goodbye,

But this Goodbye is not meant to last forever, and I will see you again someday on the brighter side.

My guardian angel is battered and bruised, tired and worn out from saving me from myself. But we may find earthly angels willing to take up the gauntlet of defending our happiness. I enjoyed the read.

This one is a mystery. It is a goodbye in the form of a letter in which the speaker voices regret over leaving but does not specify the reason for the departure. There seems to be a lot of guilt over hurting the other, but it is matched in intensity by the determination to go. Oddly, the letter closes by stating that the two will meet again in happier times. I would say that will happen only if the other is of a forgiving nature.

I read this poem as a goodbye letter to a love, and a poignant one it was too. Whether by death or other parting the lines are heartfelt and conveyed sadness. Nicely penned.

Thanks Chris 😀
This is a beautifully sad poem. All relationships eventually come to an end, through death, yet eventually these two people will meet in a better place, perhaps in heaven. The essence essence this poem seem to be a letter to a significant other to not feel depressed or sad when their lover leaves them... you convey this pretty well. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed reading!

You are welcome!
This is the nicest "dear John"letter I have read; it is almost too apologetic, but everyone has their own style of writing a lover to say goodbye; yours is loving, caring, sentimental, emotional, affectionate and more...
There is a slight tinge of hope in the end in that this goodbye may nor last forever.... nice work!

No goodbye is sweet or kind.
"If it is the Lord’s will, then I will accept it and say my Goodbye,
But this Goodbye is not meant to last forever, and I will see you again someday on the brighter side."
I did like the small hope in the above lines. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
