The Yellow Rose

The Yellow Rose

A Poem by Britteny

Thatsingle yellow rose

Was no skin off your nose

It let me know you care

Showing me a gentleman fair

And on that valintines day

You didn't give me something cliche

Red roses, chocolate hearts

Stuffed animals saying: we'll never part

Instead you remembered my personality

What I like what makes me me

I am not another flower red

But a creative mind well fed

That knows candy is overplayed

And if I had things my way

Everyday would be one of yellow flowers

Not just Valintines day to hold that power

Lovers truely to know themselves

Without the help of someone else

Just an agnolagmentthey know the other's mind

And leave all the materalistic things behind
