My Friend

My Friend

A Poem by Britteny
"

Why does a persons love control their lives so much?

"

My friend

As I look into your eyes

I wonder why must yo tell lies

Can't you be you?

Your eyes not a green blue

But a hazel dark

On people you leave your mark

You've said it yourself:

I'm not normal I'm insane

But why do my tear fall like rain?

Everyone is said to know your name

Or do they? It's such a shame

I look to you then to a world of hurt

of people who will shun you and treat you like dirt

I pray that you can withstand

This crummy hand

That mankind has delt you

I want to protect you too!

But it's like reaching into a bottomless pit

So I'm left to watch as people take their hit

You seem to deal very well

But why? Is there something more you'd like to tell?

We both debate we both phylosize

Something about you does mesmerize

Could it be that we could've been?

But this is now and that was then

You have a calling calling yearning

My hope estinguished no longer burning

The best way that I can cope

Is to support you prey and hope

That the impossiable is done

That the world accepts not runs

From you my friend so true

But this makes me blue

For this world is of never ending hate

You dangling unfairly as bate

Hope is an abyss

Oh you I will miss

But i won't give in

To this world's sin

of shunning

and poking fun

I'll stand by you till the end

My truly unique friend!
