EnoughA Poem by BrittenyWritten in frustration thrown away forgotten and then rewritten again at a later time of frustrationIt seems that at times life is just a game Of watching and waiting taking the blame Counting the hours and credits Counting the months and years All while smiling through the tears Frustration Hit the gas let the wheels spin Sick of the situation you find yourself in Enough When will it be enough You ate all of their lies Shoveling them in as you said your good byes Look at all the sacrifices you made Laid open and bare your hard work theirs to raid Enough When will it be enough When will I be enough Is it depression If you feel like you Haven’t made an impression A dent a scratch or a ding Searching to say you did something anything Show the whole you prove you’re not a hack Carry some kind of worth feel like you’ve made an impact Enough I am tired of these demons I fight Tired of proving I am an worth what’s right Enough Hard work doesn’t seem to matter Past awards and achievements left in tatters I walk these roads in life with a chip On my shoulder intrusive thoughts seem to nip Enough When will it be enough When will I be enough Tie so much of our worth to our profession So many abandoned dreams and confessions Work hard follow your dreams All will be exactly as you deem Little did they tell you none of that’s true When the real world shows it’s real hues Enough When will it be enough When will I be enough © 2024 BrittenyAuthor's Note
