A Reintoduction of MemoriesA Poem by BrittenyFunny how a picture in a Facebook group post can stir up enough to compel one to write....
A reunion
Old face mix with new I wish I was one of them Time as weathered all Look how the group’s baby has grown up To sing a lungful of unsung note Feet itching to tap unproduced rhythms It all plays out In my mind Missed opportunities and pictures uncaptured These haunt my mind Long for even the most forgotten of things The smell of cough drops The vibrations in bodies and air The electricity and excitement Before house lights Before curtains Gone Gone is the skinny girl with her studies and books Gone is the baby of the group Replaced by one eager to create memories once more A re-imagined imaginary re introduction To a past time To a hobby To a family That was never truly forgotten And hopes they never forgot their baby too © 2023 BrittenyAuthor's Note
