April showers in LondonA Poem by misguidedpoetI wrote this on a bus on the way to see my dearest friend. It is mainly jottings but I shall perfect it when I have the time and the ambition to do so.mercury rain falls in glistening sheets lowering my sodden eyelashes I look down at the moonstone tarmac. everyone looks down when it rains shrouded by umbrellas and a veil of april misery the sky is open and the streets are almost empty people huddled in coffee shops and crammed into buses waterlogged clothing creating clammy pools on the floor their humid laughter steaming up the windows escaping these crowds I walk in this fresh spring drought-rain paying no heed to the kohl painting ochre rivers on my cheeks pregnant drops turn to needles turn to mist eventually it stops, leaving dregs of puddles wet shoes small talk a fresh scent and a clear blue sky this watery blue promises of summer the weak sun makes the pavements wink and dissipates the rain-induced pessimism blinking pedestrians scuttle from their hiding-places and marvel at the sudden changes in weather and mood what was grey is now duck-egg blue and tropicana yellow I like the moth-grey of the angry sky I like the emptiness of the streets I like it when rain runs off my nose and collects in the folds of my clothes fertile nature’s touch in an urban jungle soon, clouds collect in the rain-cleared sky puffs of leaden smoke this tepid sun will not endure and the sky will open once again © 2012 misguidedpoetReviews

Some of my writings which originate as half-scribbles in my diary are too personal/painful to post online but I shall post beginnings of poems, poems .. more..Writing
