Paige, a good man is, all of the beyond and none of the above. How one views a "good man" depends on their situation, and one's moral view, towards life. What is right, in one case, is wrong, in another. Can't help, but think about Neville Chamberlain, and his dealing with Hitler, prior to WWII, attempting to prevent another war, after the deadly toll of WWI. For some, he was a good man, but to many, he betrayed England, by dealing with Hitler.
Depending on what war, you're talking about, whether, it be Iraq, poverty or drugs, I can't comment, on your last line of verse. For me, to make any comment, would be wrong.
