Shelter for my ThoughtsA Poem by Paige
I am seeking shelter from a place in my mind,
But where do you run when you can't hide? These thoughts leak into my brain like a flash flood, They seep into my veins and make friends with my blood. I run and I run but I can't hide, They live in my brain, they walk by my side. Unconscious is no help, Thoughts follow me to bed. Living in my dreams while I sleep, Cutting through my subconscious, they are skin deep. Seeking shelter from a storm that lives within, Where do I go to hide from my own sins? © 2019 Paige |
