Sober

Sober

A Poem by Paige

My morning coffee,
The sun shining through the trees,
Waking up early just to feel the morning breeze.
Country drives, blaring music so loud,
Hugging a stranger in a crowd.
Laughing until I cry,
Waking up and not wanting to die.
Because there is no shame in seeing the world through a clear mind.
You're winning this battle, but it takes time.
There are no more come downs,
You're only coming up.
And now you look forward to waking up.
Becuase the sun shining through the trees,
And the fresh morning breeze,
Has become enough for you.
Give a stranger a hug,
You don't need drugs.
Welcome to being sober.
