Pretty Pictures

Pretty Pictures

A Poem by Paige

These paint brushes cover my pain,
Dirty water, paper stained.
Pretty pictures on a torn canvas,
I'm slowly slipping into maddness.
Trying to paint over this damn mess,
I want to fill this ache in my chest.
But paint can't cover this wound,
My life feels like an impending doom.
A black page,
I'm all out of paint.
Paint brushes dry out,
My mind fills with doubt.
You can't paint over your mistakes,
When you run out of paint.
The pages crack,
The colors fade.
My pretty picture is turning grey.
