Body & Soul

Body & Soul

A Poem by Paige

Why do we look for beautiful people?

But never try look for the beauty in people?

Our minds are compromised by the times,

The times that say beauty is body,

And bodies are for sex.

Could you look past what lies behind the bras and panties?

I don’t mean to be crude, but loving someone by the curve of her a*s,

Is just plain rude.

Darling what’s your soul like,

How do you breathe so sweet?

Are you loving yourself, the way a man never has?

Are you posting pictures just for texts?

Are you confusing love and sex?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Stop letting the beholders take a hold of your heart,

When they’ve never even reached for your heart.

Your soul is the only part of you that you don’t hate.

Don’t let them taint it.

Don’t let them take it,

The way that they wish to take your body.

And if you must love with your eyes closed, then do it.

The beauty inside will always be more valuable than the beauty outside.
