Fixing You, Breaking Me.A Poem by PaigeA lesson those women who insist on fixing men.
And why would you choose to surround yourself with men that make you feel like the gum on the bottom of their shoe?
Why would you choose to be stepped on and stretched so thin? How could feel like you could fix them, when you have yet to fix yourself? And when they didn't give you enough you compensated for them. You comforted yourself, you made yourself feel better. You could ask for help a million times and not a single person would find their way out of the woods to save you. Yet you climb mountains for people that would watch you do it and not even lend you a hand. You forget your worth. Darling you are still finding yourself, stop looking for a man to define you and stop letting boys use you. Peel yourself off of the side of the road and find some damn dignity. You are a beautiful soul, a deep thinker, a good heart. Don't let these men treat you like you are nothing but a face to look at, a body to touch, a text to leave on read. Stop choosing to surround yourself with men that treat you like the gum on the bottom of their shoes. Fix yourself, and find someone that has most of their pieces already sewn together; so you don't have to spend your life looking for pieces that have always been lost. Don't be the girl who fixes men. Be the woman who doesn't need one. © 2018 Paige |
