Blurred Details

Blurred Details

A Poem by Cuppa tea

Look up.

Through the rippled surface,

it’s so still,

so quiet.

The smudged green of the trees

blends in with the blue pastel sky above,

the sunlight slanting in dances around you and holding your breath doesn’t seem so impossible anymore,

not when you look up.

The tiny air bubbles escape from your lips

floating up towards the blue

like rain drops in reverse.

Resist the pull of the outer world which compels you to break the surface.

Stay under,

the blurry view is much prettier

than the one in full detail.

It took me a good minute to understand what this poem was about. I read it fast the first time and thought, "oh it's someone enjoying a day in the park or something." I had to read it a third time before thinking "oh." Maybe it's because I just woke up or maybe you intentionally tried to hide the meaning but I loved that. That I had to dig a bit. It's as well hidden as someone would be in a pond. Beautiful.
