If I had thought for the slightest second that you cared,
I would've stayed. 

I wouldn't have left you standing alone in your foul darkness.
I wouldn't have left you smirking at the back of my skull.
I wouldn't have left you turning away from me.

If for one short moment, if for once you showed compassion,
I would've stayed.

I wouldn't have left secretly shedding tears on my shirt.
I wouldn't have left with the sun giving me chills.
I wouldn't have left knowing you were behind me.

But you didn't say anything, you just stood there,
and so I had to go..
but I would've stayed.
