Fading into Senescence

Fading into Senescence

A Poem by Patricia
"

in the loss of aging

"

I watched her search

Through tattered memories

Of gold and maroon

They burn and bleed

As rice paper and

Red charmeuse silk

The grand finale

Of a fireworks parade

A private show for one

The sol-de-soul

Of a fiery dragon

Born from the stars

No one else noticed

The subtleness of her demise

As she fizzled out like a sparkler

When she should have been

The supernova oculus

Of heavens Draco

Wow P. This is so good and so telling; my husband’s grandmother who was hated by most of the family went out like a sparkler and no one wanted to bury her so my hubby and I did everything… truly pathetic and sad… your words are perfect to portray this scene; everyone deserves
to die in dignity!
Excellent!🌹

I watched my mom's grand finale...she fought to stay with it to the end...
This poem hits home so hard.
It's a beauty but mega-sad.
