Ravenous RetributionA Poem by PatriciaA Dark Dream
The bleaching of morning sun Attempts to burn away the layers Of dirty skin and dreamer sins
A bloated heart deflated From its sticky wet engorgement You want to know
You want to peek through The keyhole of my Breathless, sweaty, psyche
As I try to hide it from God himself Fear of hellfire that I can almost Feel ravenously licking my soul
Retribution for retribution Of insidious, idiopathic conjuring That dangerously felt delectable
No, save me from your judgment While I try to save my own As you say, it was just a dream
