A Rich Winter Night

A Rich Winter Night

A Poem by Patricia
"

Seasonal

"

a platinum moon

tries sipping the oceans

chimneys offer warmth

to cold clouds

windows are robbed

of their glowing gold

flecks of silver

are just thrown in the air

need dreams in

colorful soft cotton

wants bare themselves

for cool satin

desire is wished

upon quick silver

some, upon blowing

out the evening’s candle

a north wind

sweeps away today

leaving a sparkling

white floor

silence, the silence

is worth a mint

trying to spend the whole

Because tomorrow is a thief

And it wants so much more

bathe in the moonlight in the warmth of you comfy home....listen to the silence of light snowflakes falling from the dark sky.... enjoy the silken sheets and the colorful dreams...because tomorrow will not be the same silence you have at this moment.... tomorrow you don't know what to expect....
lots of texture and color....silence is golden!!!
Warmly, B

Thanks B! I am starting to appreciate long winter nights.
all nicely done with the last two lines addressing what our tomorrows with or appointments, our responsibilities, our ageing and much more, always expects of us

thanks Dave... yeah, including the mortgage, utilities and lets not forget taxes!
The spare style complements this one very nicely. Throughout the poem, the imagery of loss and lack dominates. The last lines indicate the situation will not improve. Not pretty, but well done.

Hey Patricia,

Really outstanding write here - a treat, in a lot of ways. It kind of washes over you, the images, tone and tempo, and instills a sense of calm that I think I've been looking for, for a while at least.

It's also silent where I am, also cold, and tomorrow perpetually feels like it's trying to pick my pocket. It can be hard, I think, to remember that I came here looking for that silence - the kind that's worth a mint - that it's here, and that I've been habitually overlooking it.

Writing like this acts as a reminder in that way, and I appreciate the chance to read.

Thank you for sharing,

-Ook

dear Pat... the Moon has many Moods as the Seasons come and go... we grow in wisdom from the setting Sun to the Dreams we capture when the rising of the Sun knows the Secrets of the Day. softly, Pat
