Ghosted

Ghosted

A Poem by Patricia
"

By my muse

"

I nearly drown

then rise for air

in the ebb and flow

of your complexities

that you offer

like tea or coffee

on the deck of what

may be a ghost ship

it’s easy to forget

you are not real when

I have felt your touch and

I have heard you speak

but you always disappear

leaving me treading in

an ocean of spirits

with unfinished business

and I, with no words

for any of them

this is not how

I wanted to drown

I wanted to drown in you

When we drown a lover. They do not return. I liked the honest words dear Patricia. Lost on a ghost ship with old thoughts. We need to drown the old memories. Thank you dear friend sharing the amazing poetry.

You are welcome, dear Patricia.
This is simply wonderful and my favorite thing I've read today! You should definitely keep that muse close. A terrific write.

Thank you so much Fabian, that makes my day! :)
Excellent twist at the end. Those complexities can be so ethereal. And hard to write when your coffee mug is on a table intangible. Real is relative and subjective, right?

I think this is a witty poem with fab metaphor on ghosting and unrequited love, you expressed superbly so appealingly. Kudos!!

Thank you for reading and commenting, you are very kind and generous! :)
i am moved .. love unreturned can devastate us one and all :( .. love the analogy .. being "Ghosted" .. the ghost ship .. out to sea and adrift in movements beyond our control .. i feel heavy with the tragedy .. well done says i!

Thank you Einstein and so good to see you again. So glad you liked this write. :)
Wow, wow, wow. Amazing, intense, the wordplay is just so inspiring and beautiful. I reread it several times and each time it just gets better. The metaphors and the way you write is so crisp and clear, I’m jealous of this piece! I feel the love and emotions through each word, so, so palpable. Thank you so much for sharing. Keep writing these gorgeous pieces. (:

Thank you so much, you are too kind! So glad you enjoyed this piece :)
Very sensual words...whether for your muse or for a fantasy lover, so much to read between the lines. A ghost ship...indeed, I feel as though my muse travels off in one with pirates every now and then and I must pay a ransom to get my muse back! I enjoyed this one. Lydi**

Thank you Lydia for your very kind comment! :)
I like how intricate this poem is. We automatically can assume on the first read that this very well might be about a lover and it fits perfectly. Of course under the title you say it's about your muse, which once again can be about a lover, but this can be about an idea or inspiration or anything around you that you are having trouble pinning down. The metaphors are overflowing, the language sharp, yet the wording is translucent enough tp provide everyone with their own meaning. Great stuff!! CD
