The Hilltop

The Hilltop

A Poem by Nicola Bentley
"

Watching the Sunset with my lover

"

We watched in wonder as she died

Her farewell colours deep inside

Our souls

The sky was etched

We gazed in wonder

Witnesses to something

Almost divine -

A brief and fleeting

Moment in time, now

Forever yours and mine

We bade farewell to another day

And we watched the colours fade away

To black
