Mechanical Fondness

Mechanical Fondness

A Poem by Vertu Rose
"

A poem that illustrates the loneliness of being used, like a machine.

"

I see you through the machinery.
The nails and bolts cling to one another.
You don’t see me.
You don’t  remember.
Your android of a reverie,
Looking right through,
The scrap metal.

You threw the key away.
The cement locks it away forever.
I don’t notice.
I don’t remember.
Your android of a reverie,
Looking right through,
The melting metal.

You don’t see me,
You don’t recognize my mechanical voice.
The cement locks me away forever.
The android that I've become,
From the concoction of your need.
You look right through me,
Through the shattered metal pieces of me.
