Clever Moments

Clever moments, pretending wanting you,

never enters my mind; yet, it is real.

Memories sweetly keep it all alive …

feelings hidden within sighs' fervid breaths.

Wishing fate allows more peaceful daydreams,

clever moments, pretending wanting you,

flow through our lives beneath bright, starlit skies …

know ne'er again will two loving hearts meet.

Precious thoughts dancing like fireflies through life;

when soft fingertips once caressed blushed cheeks.

Clever moments, pretending wanting you,

      raindrops on petals stir lonely heartaches.

Passion holds us like air we do not see;

'cross time and back, lush lingering desires.

Yearning for simple yesterdays ~ so loved

… clever moments, pretending wanting you.

I like that! Calling the memory of some thought clever moments!
We all have them, along with some really dumb ones too in my case, but memory erases the dumb folder in our minds far more frequently, which must explain why those clever moments remain so crystal in out minds.
I think mine are stored in a plastic wallet that may be red or pink in colour, which might explain all those rose tinted happy memories! 😃

Woooow!!! This poem beautifully captures the bittersweet longing and heartache of unfulfilled love. The repetition of "clever moments, pretending wanting you" adds to the sense of yearning and the delicate balance between desire and restraint. The imagery of memories, fireflies, and raindrops evokes a quiet sadness, as if you are gently holding onto what once was. There’s a tender melancholy in the way passion and nostalgia weave through time, leaving the reader with a deep sense of wistfulness. It’s a touching reflection on love, loss, and the ache of what could have been.

Wow! Deeply emotional and romantic. Prevention can indicate deep want, desire and understanding.
I like the format and repetition too.
You are rocking.
