Gone

Gone

A Poem by Lisasview
"

A new Free Verse poem. I wrote this from a males perspective ... seems my Muse was moving me in that direction ... once again. Love can be so very painful.

"

Gone

Waiting for you …

I watch as

dusk forms

shadows across our lawn.

Waiting for you …

I gaze out the window;

stars appear as

darkness approaches.

Waiting for you …

I see smeared outlines

 of red lipstick,

along the edge

of your crystal wine glass.

Waiting for you …

I smell your

lingering perfume

and, begin to cry.

Waiting for you …

 Night has taken over,

you are gone

and, I am alone.

dear Lisa... collecting teardrops in an empty Wine Goblet... is a lonely time that we all want to avoid. We do cherish the Moments and Days we spend together. As we age, we realize how lonely we would be without the One that makes our Life complete. gently, Pat

You paint a picture of loneliness here Lisa and of longing. Someone is missing and the hurt comes through. Memories can make that even more painful. The repetition works so well here. Love can be cruel. Good to see a post from you.

Oh you don’t look it !
A statement of feeling alone in the absense of one longed for but not forgotten. How associations with the physical brings back memories.

sometimes love makes you laugh, and sometimes cry... Lisa, your poem speaks to the sadness I have felt for more than 50 years... she was someone I was unprepared for yet, needed, then lost to male stupidity... on occasion, I can still smell the Shalimar she wore... thanks for sharing, Lisa

It can. yes, dear Lisa.
I would never been brave enough to speak from the others perspective, but you manage it well here Lisa. Those smeared lipstick traces get me every time.
