Gone

A new Free Verse poem. I wrote this from a males perspective ... seems my Muse was moving me in that direction ... once again. Love can be so very painful.

Gone

Waiting for you …

I watch as 

dusk forms 

shadows across our lawn.

Waiting for you …

I gaze out the window;

stars appear as

darkness approaches.

Waiting for you …

I see smeared outlines

 of red lipstick,

along the edge 

of your crystal wine glass.

Waiting for you …

I smell your

lingering perfume

and, begin to cry.

Waiting for you …

 Night has taken over,

you are gone

and, I am alone.

Good morning dearest Patricia,
What a wonderful review to receive at around 7am here in Spain.It really means so much to me that you are going back into my work and reviewing posts that are not recent.
I had a pretty bad 2023. Two falls and then two weeks ago I had a new knee replacement.
So I have not been writing no reviewing like I did in the past.
Each day right now is a challenge with the pain and how tired I feel.My energy level which is normally so high is so low.
Of course I know that all this will pass.
I will be 76 this Feb. and I am in excellent health, weight, etc. so this is really a surprise to me.
Just wanted to let you know why I ave not been reviewing and writing.

dear Lisa… it is about one pm during the night in Virginia 🇺🇸 USA. My husband has been to the Emergency Room often the last year. He has a weak 💜 heart and I worry a lot ; however I am a Believer in being Cheerful. My right knee is painful half the Time. It may be Arthritis… I am so busy with Roger in dialysis and he is on Oxygen most of the Time. We really try to enjoy Life. We have had some Snow; but not a Lot. We are looking forward to Spring… seems so far away.. as it is Cold everywhere in the 🇺🇸 USA. Glad you are feeling better in 🇪🇸 Spain… our Flags look similar or is that an illusion. My children and grands are very Well and enjoying Life. softly, Pat
