Thoughts

A Poem by Lisasview

      Thoughts ....

    Mystery of thought;
    the thought ...
    but a mystery.

    Never to be truly
    captured in words.
    For words often lose
    true meaning
    of the thought ...

    Words glide lightly
    over the surface
    of the thought ...

    The thought ...
    held captive within us;
    for a mere instant then, evaporates,
    as quickly as it appeared.

    Now - but a mystery
    that escapes us ...
    As one thought;
    steps quickly ~ over another;
    overlapping, so cleverly.

    Thought upon thought ...
    leaving no void.

    Even as we sleep,
    our thoughts have a
    light of their own ...
    dancing about, leaving
    us with dreams
    and, a mystery ...

           ~~~
Love this one dear Lisa, specially the first verse, it's cleverly written. your whole poem paints what a thought is, how it's clear sometime, confused at the others, sometimes we are able to describe it, other times we can not. Brain is as the heart, powerful with no limits. our thoughts are the products and fruits of it.
You are welcome Seneorita in beautiful Spain.
Thoughts seem independent of us. Entities unknown. Alive on their own. I enjoyed this poem so much!
Those thoughts so personal to us that can linger or dissipate into thin air at will. They enter uninvited and they leave only when they are ready. Some of them are so intrusive. I like your lines here very much Lisa. A good subject for a poem.
" thoughts have a
light of their own" this is an interesting line.
One can deduce that what we are is the observers of thoughts. Make you think that maybe this is what is pointing the scriptures when they talk about the omniscience of God.
Great!! Good to hear..
As though thoughts were moths flitting and fluttering about in our mind, as we, in good attempts, try to catch them, but find it futile. This, to me, is why trying to write a poem is often so difficult.
Why do those ideas seem to evade us when we try to construct something of interest to others. It is something I've struggled with forever.
This is the first poem I've read by you, Lisa, and I enjoyed it very much. Any poem that allows us to see or think is a good one to me. :)
This contained a wonderful theme and intriguing insight into the workings of the mind. Thoughts so transitory and constantly evolving evaporate or become distorted sometimes creating false memories. A wonderful write I loved it.
