The warmth and spirit of a loved one remains with us even after they are long departed. We may not feel their touch any longer but as long as they remain alive in our memory the miles seem just that bit closer. It's a sad piece with your loss, love and acceptance of it here for all to read. Touching poem, Lisa. ⚘

When someone has lit up our lives, we are so lost without them. Darkness surrounds us. But then, their memory, like a stray angel, guides us out. Beautiful words, Lisa.

Dear Lisa. You made the words dance to perfect and wonderful meaning.
"The waters are blue and even green in parts,
the air hangs heavy there between our hearts."
I loved and I understood the above lines. Some places, some faces. Become a part of us forever. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Hi again Lisa, I could not resist another read and review when i saw this one, it touched my heart in a special way from when my husband was in Afghanistan and we used to write back and forth before he was killed.
Especially your first couplet gripped my heart and verse two reminds me of the evil of the Taliban that kept us apart but verse three tugs deeply at my sadness as does your final couplet because there is nothing I love more than to close my eyes and remember our love for each other, thank you Lisa for this wonderful free verse poem -- you are so lovely a poet! :)
HUGGS!

So strange that there is a comment on your review..but it is not from me? Can you see it on your end?? It is right above what I am writing now.. and has no name on it..weird..
Anyway, I am so glad you decided to read another one of mine. And, I am heartbroken that you lost your husband.. My poem was originally called Death when I had lost someone in the 70's. I have kept all my poems.. The only thing was that I changed the title and added the last two lines..I never changed anything else..The fact that it had such an affect on you is really wonderful. My hope is that my poems help someone feel....
Hugs back yo you my new friend,
Lisa
Do you ever wonder as to whether those from our past think of us as we do of them Lisa.
This is my favourite of yours thus far.
Good morning, hope you are well.

I think of all the people that have crossed my life over the years and wonder "do they ever think of me?" With Facebook I have been able to locate some people... but of course not everyone.. So happy you like my poem.. The response to it has been amazing.. This was an older poem of mine..that was unfinished. All I did was to add the final two lines... I like it as well. Thank you for your kind review. Lisa

unfortunately, I can relate to this all too well. I have a couple people in mind...and often I sit alone
pondering what it would be like to have another moment with each. One a lover, one a closest friend.
Sometimes I just don't understand why some are picked to leave this world too soon.
Beautiful poem, Lisa.

The visuals in this are breathtaking. With you words you painted a million pictures and all of them are beautiful. Every line is so strong and though through what we’re reading is that two people miss each other dearly and yet there’s still some comfort and warmth. Thank you for sharing!

I like the metaphors used in this poem they are very striking. Even in death the memories of one's mate can elicit love's warmth in their heart. Wonderful work.
