Some people base their entire philosophy off of the concept that suffering is the natural state of existence. Not only is suffering to an extent inescapable, it is required, life is defined more than anything by it's presence or absence.
Everything as we know it is a distorted representation of some timeless amoral undefinable urge to exist. Humans cannot distinguish between invention and discovery when it comes to individual existence. I think you would be a fan of Arthur Schopenhauer's writing. (The World as Will and Representation)

on the concept that one can not know happiness with out having known sadness..Did you ever read Gibran?
I haven't read his work for many years..but his thoughts have stayed with me..

Can not wait to get back to writing.
Did you realise that I wrote that poem more than 50 years ago?
I kept it written in pencil all these years and posted it for the very first time last year.
I think my most recent poem is called Gone..You might like it...

Journeying to the past, past-written archives can be nostalgic, bittersweet; it is like turning pages or flipping through albums.
This had strong visuals and emotions; lows leading to highs.
Awesome!

50 years!! Wow! I imagine you have a pile. Maybe even a burn pile. Not too many made it here. This poem felt like a time travel story which I love. At the end we return to our beginning. The loop of life. Now frightened by the screams of our past. Our memories. Frozen in a simultaneous past and future.

We use his name because it sounds good with art. Billigami is my alter ego who folds the words and meanings into poetic puzzles. He gets a little out of control sometimes and that's when that spontaneous poetry happens. But I, Bill, do the talking and thinking for us all. (Read my poem 'Billigami'. Explains it all.)

Wow, 50years ago... this is an excellent, powerful piece with such emotion of feeling that loneliness. We all can relate one way or another, whether now or in the past.

I feel here many things. a hurt, a pain that need to released but it is stuck, I feel depression and loneliness, someone who hides it all to themselves inside these locked door. so Happy You are not there anymore. life teaches us and let us grow.

It was early 1970.. so I was about 22 years old.. Luckily, I was never depressed... but I was not happy when I went back home to visit for a day and had an argument with my mother...Luckily it only lasted a very short while...but the Scream poem (which I wrote while I was there) came out of me.. Just a moment in my life..Thank goodness.. As we all know life isn't perfect and we have as they say.. good times and tough times..
As we grow we are able to (hopefully) cope with the tough times in a better way...I am so glad I kept all my poems and journals...
Thank you again for reading my poems..I always appreciate your insight. You are right..the pain I needed to release.. was released in my poem...
Lisa
wow! powerful write says i! one's childhood can be filled with many things; screams being the most horrific ... rooms of torture (real or imagined no matter) and the whole house can be emptied .. a vortex that sucks your protagonists attempts at life into the gloom .. wow! i love your poem .. so emotive .. universal from intense to beyond it ... me Da use to tell me, in my reckless youth, that we can never go back .. and he was right of course, he always was after all. ;) returning to old haunts just tells us life has moved on ... but this return home was a bad idea says i! her endless screams inside deafening ... thanks for sharing ... this powerful, emotive poem

I was in my early 20’s when I wrote this.
I have kept all my writings, even from when I was a child.
I decided to submit without changing or correcting anything.
I remember writing it out without doing anything to it...
The words just poured out if me... as they do now.
