PoisonA Poem by GeorgiaThis is not a poem and this is not about you
It's poison
But they can't see it through the lies And I'm drowning Can't you see it in my eyes I'm dreaming that I will wake up from this fear I hold on to everything that passes here When I wake up Will I see you and her again? When I cry out, will I be forgotten? When I reach up out into the open air Will I see your eyes telling me they care? It's poison It's the drug that they don't know It's dark black But every other colour shows I run from the danger every dose could bring I won't wake up just to feel the bitter sting When I wake up Will I see you and her again When I cry out, will I be forgotten? When I reach up out into the open air Will I see your eyes telling me they care? I see it cut into our fragile lives It slices with the sharpest knife It breaks apart what we once knew How could I let it do that to you When I wake up Will I see you and her again When I cry out, will I be forgotten? When I reach up out into the open air Will I see your eyes telling me they care? It's poison It's poison © 2015 Georgia |
