A Poem by Georgia

Yesterday I played back the songs that we once sung
I danced around the rooms where our love had first begun
Videos from my mind were playing softly as I smiled
Back to the time when we were just teenagers running wild

We were in a café as it began to pour with rain
We wandered bench to bench, please remind me of their names?
Back when the trees were pretty and underneath them we would sit
We'd only leave when the street lamps were just beginning to be lit

The cold had only ever brought us closer to each other
Someday you were going to meet my father and my mother
One day we would travel to a city, somewhere grand
Walking by canals, we would be strolling hand in hand

And one day we'd be having children, a little girl as cute as her
My mind was running wild, you left the thoughts of us - a blur
I'd tease you with the things that I was not supposed to say
I told you plans of a wedding hoping I'd be married to you someday

We had little wars I'd always win and dreams that would make us smile
I'd miss you every time that you were away for a little while
Now the dust has settled on us and I am starting to begin again
But the memories I won't forget because I fell in love at 4am
