A Million Stars

A Million Stars

A Poem by Georgia

There's more stars in the sky
Than grains of sand on the ground
If we turned out all the lights
All the stars, they would surround
They light up the sky
Like glitter in the sun
A thousand miles away
They know some thing’s begun
They twinkle and they shine
Bringing light into the dark
Appearing every night
The way that you entered my heart
They may seem to disappear
As the skies fill with clouds and rain
But they're just hidden behind the clouds
So please don't take my light away
Somewhere miles across this land
That is where you rest your head
With a million pressing thoughts
That are trying to leave you dead
Even so the stars keep glistening
As if there is nothing wrong at all
So far away from here
They're like a tiny shimmering ball
Some stars shoot across the sky
Maybe they're trying to escape
Yet they hold hope for us on Earth
As we let them change our fate
The distance between us here
Unbearable as it seems
Would be nothing like the distance
If I could only see you in my dreams
So when I look to the stars tonight
And as I dream of you again
I want to know you're looking with me
Not shining somewhere amongst them
