Growing Up

Growing Up

A Poem by Georgia

Why did it have to change?
The way it was before?
Everything was simple,
When was the line drawn?

Why did it have to change?
From one life to another?
The world turned to a mess,
Some way or another.

Why did it have to change?
From the moment we grew up?
No one saw it coming,
There was nothing here but love.

Why did it have to change?
Now there's sadness in the air.
Along with jealousy and hate and grief,
When did this become fair?

Why did it have to change?
Now judging is all around.
No one has free choices,
Silence is a deadly sound.

Why did it have to change?
The happiness turning to pain?
Can we not go back in time?
We could be young again.

Its amazingly written and manages to bring back the memories of those happy days, innocence and the simple life. Well done.
