To Help You

To Help You

A Poem by Georgia

I found myself playing that song,
And feeling sorry for you.
I know what's going on in your life,
But you don't have clue.

I'm just another girl to you,
One you never see.
These feelings are strange, the ones occurring,
Deep inside of me.

It's been so long I don't understand why,
Or how, that I suddenly care.
I want to help you and talk to you,
And free you from your despair.

You feel so alone and I understand why,
I've been through it alone, the same.
We talked a few times back then,
Until I was the one to blame.

I seem strange and annoying to you, I guess,
Though why, I'm still not sure.
I wish you didn't feel that way,
I just want friendship and nothing more.

I want to help you, if I can,
But I know more than I really should.
I might mess things up again for you,
Believe me, I probably would.

So, I hope you start to smile again,
There's one thing that I've learned.
Things get better as time goes on,
To heal, you must be burned.
