Waiting

Waiting

A Poem by OJ

I would chuck it all in and turn it all round

Turn back the sky and go underground.

I'd paint the town red until I'm blue in the face

Fight the good fight and run the straight race

I'd stop all the clocks and race against time

Make lemonade from lemons, quick as a lime.

Turn over new leaves, bark up the wrong tree,

Drop in the ocean and be all at sea.

Put my best foot forward, not hold myself back

Be a lone wolf whilst I run with the pack.

I'd be holding my breath with my nose in the air,

Turning the tables, on the edge of my chair.

But I'll press on regardless whilst I'm pulling your leg

On time that's been borrowed, your pardon I'll beg.

A fish out of water, as free as a bird,

Please break the silence and just say the word.
