The pledge

Our pledge for this country is special 

One thing I don't understand 

Is this simple line

"Unto the republic for which it stands, One nation under god"

Are we really under god?

Or have we strayed away 

Seperated ourselves from his guidence 

Why are we taking god out of our government?

It was founded on him. No?

Why are we straying and letting our nation decay?

For this I have no answer

Where is the progress in that?

There isn't any sense in that 

Why say god bless america?

Not just bless america?

Is it because it doesn't make sense?

Is our pledge still our pledge?

Its a pledge 

But the question is 

Is it still our pledge?

That is a good poem full of patriotism and some anger. Why let the nation decay? Why not actually be one instead of merely voicing that we are one? Good repetition. Keep writing.
