Desperation

I honestly have no idea where I came up with this but its is a tough time I am going through.

Phone ringing in the middle of the night

You answer and drop it in a state of panic

You race to dress and to get there in time

Scared you will not have time to say goodbye

You get there and sit all night 

Waiting and silently praying

Hoping for one more day 

For a little more time

He may be ready to let go 

But you have trouble because you are torn apart

Fear grips your very soul

It is a sleepless night as you all sit and wait

In a moment of desperation you cry and pray

Asking god one more day

Just one more 

You wait for hours and hours for him to pass 

Morning arrives

Gods granted you another day

Hope and sadness fills your heart

But the desperation to make him stay will never leave

The desperation makes us who we are 

It is desperation that is human

I loved this. It was really powerful and immediately when I started reading it I had a flash back to the night my brother was in the hospital. You put you emotion into this that's why it makes it so much stronger and connective. GOOD JOB!

Thanks I wrote this about my uncle he is currently on his death bed from cancer. Its been really rough the past few days. Poetry has been helping me cope with this event.
