Little flame

This is about a flame that is actually a soul.

A little flame flickers in the wind

Twisting and turning and living

A flaming soul

Refusing to be extinguished 

This little flame brings light and hope

It destroys the dead to create life

Once it is done it curls into the embers

Falling asleep

Every soul that has seen it has a kindled flame

His brothers live inside everyone

Though time remains dark and cold 

still its sleeping

Others are awake and burning 

Don't let the little flames go to sleep

For they are the fire that helps us breathe

They are the fire that is our soul

Your poem describes a type of spirituality using fresh original analogies thru-out. I love the message of honoring each flame & encouraging one another along the tough journey of life, which often hammers us. Not stated, but understood, is the message of how being mean & bullying others really brings us all down, it degrades humanity overall. Little flames are to be shared & protected! Love your way of stating this.

Thank you I got this idea from a song we sang in church when I was little called carry your candle it just got stuck in my head so I decided a poem might do it justice.
