Twister

Twister

A Poem by outspoken1234
"

This is a experience I had when I was little.

"
Distant thunder cracks across a sea green sky
The rain pounds down with hail stones
They sky is tinted a unnatural dye
The wind howls an unearthly moan
The sirens scream out a warning
Families run for cover
Knowing they shouldn't be ignoring
As the house above them shudders
The nightmare that has come
Destroying everything as it goes
The storms almost done
Wind stops howling as the storm slows
It disappears as quickly as it appeared
The family see's the damage as they emerge
Sunlight filters through the clouds that have cleared
They are determined to rebuild not discouraged
The twister of that day
Couldn't instill fear
Made them realize they need to rebuild and stay
When hope was so near
