First steps

I actually wrote this from a child's point of view of their father

You were there when I took my first breath 

My dad helped me take my first steps

You where my shoulder to cry on after ever heart break 

You'll always be my best friend 

Even in the future after your life's spent 

One thing you'll always be Is the world's best father 

Our lives are never farther then you make them 

At birth two lives entwined as two but one 

When I've tripped and fallen 

You will always be the one picking me up 

If I wanted to sing a song 

You would always join and sing along 

My first steps were embedded in sand 

Your last will fall next to mine 

Life's a book you have to write your own chapters 

For now I must close and end this one 

To only begin again 

Daddy you were there at my first steps 

You'll always forever be my best friend 

Until I see you at one of life's crazy bends I want to say 

I love you dad thanks for my first steps
