Dark Circles

Dark Circles

A Poem by Rachel Myers
"

Rescued from the sea of loneliness

"

I say the wrong words

But this is right

And I don’t have to be happy

But this is right

Every word you say seeps

Inside me

Inside me

Where you want to be

Where you will be

Where you already are

Spiraling

Twirling

Twisting

Around my fuzzy brain

Around my dormant heart

Through my veins

Connecting

Connected

The same words

Escape my mouth,

Escape yours

Too happy to consider

A new verb

A new adjective

A new noun

Parts of speech

We are compound words

The immaculate flow of it made me read it in a whisper. Brilliant deviation from the norm.

Oscar Wilde said, most people are other people. their thoughts are someone else's opinion, their lives a mimicry.

This is the exact opposite. a well-regarded life, uninherited, ready to face the worst, wanting the challenge to be one faced with a kindred spirit. someone who understands and feels the same. more than that believes in the same reasons of feeling.

the line, and i don't have to be happy but this is right. simply wonderful.
