I did not mean toA Poem by Rachel MyersI think this might be an apology.I did not mean to make a
home in the ruins of us Sending you desperate invitations
to return When you left with a one
way ticket I did not mean to evolve
into this sad creature Spinning webs of denial to
make myself stable Using a mountain of off
brand silk I did not mean to become
so entwined Creating an instant
tangled mess Entirely knotted and
coiled I did not mean to blame
myself for this Drowning in the sea of
your guilt that you left Gasping for air (I can
breathe again) I did not mean to drag
this on for so long Listening to the sound of
the gong Signaling the end © 2012 Rachel MyersAuthor's Note
