Then what's the deal with being lonely?

Then what's the deal with being lonely?

A Poem by Rachel Myers

Every night I find myself talking to the same

Three

boys

One

Interchangeable who means nothing

And never will

Who gives me the attention I deserve

But never receive from

Two

Who tugs at my heartstrings

Attached to the butterflies in my stomach

And teaches me the definition of desire

And LUST.

Three

Who has remained consistent for years

And will be there next year

And the next without a doubt

He makes me want to settle down

But if there’s a one and there is a two and even a three

Then what’s the deal with being lonely?
